Plan is an international children’s development organisation.They work in 50 developing countries across Africa, Asia and the Americas to promote child rights and lift millions of children out of poverty.
Right now they are also working at the campaign to promote quality education for girls. Millions of girls are being denied an education right at a time when it has the power to transform their lives and the world around them. They are forced to marry at an early age, they don’t have the right to attend school. We all can fight this outrageous practice that is still the reality many girls live in the modern world.
Members of Damlaget therefore have decided to be a part of Plan activities in Sweden and raise a helping hand for the children.
To sign-up as a volunteer for Plan in Sweden you should write an email to erica [dot] hebbe [at] plansverige [dot] org and
they will notify us about an introduction event they are going to have for the English volunteers.
The volunteering tasks at Plan’s office in Stockholm mainly consist of packing envelopes, controlling, registering and updating reports in their computer system, translating and reading correspondence between sponsor and sponsored child etc.
As a volunteer you work the morning shift between 9:00 and 12:00 or the afternoon shift between 13:00 and 16:00 as many days as you like, but at least once a month.
It does not matter if you speak Swedish or not, English is perfectly enough.
